Description
This position is designed to focus resources on the maintenance and continued improvement of ISO Quality Systems with DF Barnes – with specific focus on maintaining a quality culture throughout the group that places us as a leader in its field. This is a senior position reporting directly to the Vice President. It is designed to enhance a cross-company culture of quality, with specific focus on guiding the line and operational managers on corporate policies and procedures with respect to Quality.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain monitor and audit the current ISO 9001:2008 at DF Barnes Services, Services and Extreme East Rigging
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures, policies and processes
  • Perform review of client documentation for incoming projects, and manage development of quality documentation and procedures including:
  • Quality Plans
  • Inspection and Test Plans
  • Traceability Plans/Programs
  • Perform final review of project documentation, prior to delivery to client
  • Attend project meetings and site visits with clients on quality related concerns.
  • Liaison with regulatory representatives in matters of product quality (DNV,Lloyd’s Register, CWB, etc.)
  • Originate and investigate NCRs within the Quality Management Systems
  • Convey quality requirements for project to trades, through toolbox talks and observations systems
  • General liaison between shop floor personnel and operations managements regarding quality issues
  • Supervise company QC inspectors
  • Supervise the development, implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management Systems (ISO)
  • Partake in quality audits performed by clients and registrar
  • Supervise the Internal Auditing process, as well as audit approved vendors
  • Prepare and present Management Review Meeting as required by the QMS
  • Communicate corporate quality objectives between Senior Management, Operations and Trades
  • Review QA/QC policies and procedures developed by QA/QC Leads
  • Participate in corporate strategic planning and manage quality related directives.

  • Education, Skills and Requirements:
    • Ability to teach, educate, coach and collaborate with others
    • Sharepoint system knowledge and integration
    • QMS experience
    • Relevant Post-secondary education
    • Sound knowledge of quality systems, principles and methodologies
    • Sound knowledge of health and safety systems, principles and methodologies
    • Demonstrated experience in reducing process variability
    • Project Management experience and leadership skills
    • Superior communication skills
    • Incident investigation and root cause analysis training/experience
    • RABQSA certified ISO 9001 competency based lead auditor training
